Today in MonDive, we’re exploring ChatGPT Sites, a new way to build and publish interactive websites directly from ChatGPT and Codex.

We’ll create a marketing project tracker from a simple prompt, review the first version, improve it through conversation, and publish the finished Site with a shareable URL.

ChatGPT Sites brings that process into one place. You can:

• Describe your website in plain English

• Add files and existing context

• Preview and improve it through conversation

• Publish it with a shareable URL

• Return anytime to update it

Tools like Lovable, Bolt, and Replit can also build websites from prompts. The difference is that Sites works directly inside ChatGPT and Codex, using the conversations and files you already have with hosting, storage, and access controls built in.

Step 1: Open ChatGPT Sites

Open the ChatGPT desktop app and switch to the Codex tab.

Click Sites in the left sidebar, then select Create new site.

This opens a new project where you can describe the website you want ChatGPT to create. You can also use @Sites in your prompt to start building.

ChatGPT Sites is currently available on eligible paid plans, including Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu, not Free or Go.

Step 2: Describe What You Want to Build

Now tell ChatGPT what kind of website you want to create.

You can describe your idea directly or upload a file such as a spreadsheet, project brief, PDF, or brand guide that ChatGPT can use as context.

A useful prompt should explain what the website is for, who will use it, which features it needs, and how it should look.

For this tutorial, we will create an interactive project tracker for a marketing team.

Sample Prompt:

@Sites Create a website to build an interactive project tracker for my marketing team. Include task owners, deadlines, priorities, progress, and filters for status.

Step 3: Review the First Version

ChatGPT created a polished marketing project tracker called Launchpad.

The dashboard showed overall progress, tasks in progress, upcoming deadlines, and completed work. It also generated eight realistic tasks across planning, creative, email, social media, and analytics.

We could search tasks, filter them by status or owner, and switch between List and Board views. Opening a task allowed us to update its owner, priority, deadline, status, and progress.

The first version was already functional, but it still needed priority and campaign filters, along with a clearer way to identify urgent or overdue tasks.

We can add those improvements with a follow-up prompt.

Step 4: Improve the Site With a Follow Up Prompt

The first version was already functional, so we did not need to rebuild it.

We simply told ChatGPT which features were missing and how they should work with the existing tracker.

Follow Up Prompt :

Add a dashboard showing completed, overdue, and upcoming tasks. Make the design cleaner and more professional.

Once the prompt is complete, run it and let ChatGPT update the existing Site.

Step 5: Final Result

The follow-up prompt upgraded Launchpad without changing its original design or functionality.

The dashboard now includes an Overdue card and a Needs Attention section showing urgent tasks, owners, deadlines, priorities, and statuses.

ChatGPT also added the missing priority and campaign filters. These work alongside search, status, and owner filters, making it easier to find specific tasks.

The final Site now includes:

• Project progress and task summaries
• Urgent and overdue task tracking
• Status, owner, priority, and campaign filters
• List and Board views
• Editable task details
• Automatic saving
• A responsive professional design

After testing everything in the private preview, we published the Site and received a shareable URL that anyone with permission can open.

We created a complete marketing project tracker, but the same process can be used to build dashboards, landing pages, client portals, calculators, resource hubs, and other interactive websites.
