How to Study with Free Textbooks in Gemini Notebook

Gemini Notebook now has hundreds of free textbooks you can add to any notebook. Ask questions about a chapter, then turn it into study guides, quizzes, and flashcards that point back to the book.
Step 1: Open Gemini Notebook
Open Gemini Notebook on the web and sign in with your Google account. Click New notebook to start a notebook, or open one you already have.
Step 2: Add a Textbook
Select Add sources, then choose Textbooks to browse the free catalog. Search for a book or filter by Topic, Level, or Country, select one or more books, and click Add to sources.
Step 3: Ask About Your Textbook
Type your question in the chat box. Every answer comes from your textbook, and you can click a citation number to see the exact passage behind it.
For example:
Explain [topic] in simple terms with one example.
What are the key ideas in the chapter on [topic]?
Compare [concept A] and [concept B] in a short table.
Replace [topic] with the subject you are studying.
Step 4: Create Study Materials
In the Studio panel, choose Flashcards, Quiz, or Reports. Add a topic if you want to focus on one chapter, then click Generate now. Gemini Notebook builds each one from your textbook, so you can review a chapter and test yourself in the same place.
Build one notebook for each course and keep using it all term. Add your lecture slides and class notes next to the textbook, and Gemini Notebook will answer from all of them, so exam prep becomes a quick review instead of rereading every chapter.

Note: Textbooks come in as text only, so charts and diagrams from the book are not included. The catalog comes from U.S. and Indian publishers such as OpenStax and S Chand.
