How to use Claude's new Memory Transfer feature

Step 1: Open Claude

Open your browser and go to Claude, then log in to your account to get started.

Step 2: Open Settings and turn on Memory Import

Click your profile icon in the bottom-left corner,

• open Settings 

• Go to Capabilities.

• In the Memory section, enable the memory feature

Step 3: Start the memory import

Go to Import Memory, and Claude will show you a prompt to use in another AI tool.

• Click Start import

• In the pop-up, click Copy

• Open your current assistant, like ChatGPT

• Paste Claude’s prompt into the chat box

• Copy the response your assistant gives you

Step 4: Finish the memory import

Now return to Claude and save the imported context.

• Paste the response back into Claude

• This text contains the context Claude will learn from

• Click Add to Memory

• You’re done

Claude will now use that imported context in future chats.

Claude can now use that imported context to personalize future chats, adapt to how you like responses written, and keep track of important project details over time. You can also manage, review, or remove saved memory anytime from your settings.
